How to protect your energy with boundaries & micro-rituals
It would be lovely if our bleed fell on a perfectly timed day where we could rest all day and free bleed in privacy however we lead busy lives and this isn’t always the reality.
I have consistently noticed that my bleed begins when I’ve created space to tune in - usually the day before a few big work days.
What if instead of “ugh, I have to work while I’m bleeding,” you thought: “Today I get to share my gentleness, my presence, my maternal energy and that’s exactly what some of my clients need.”
Our bleed invites us to show up differently, without compromising our needs.
When I’m bleeding, I feel more maternal, grounded, and deeply connected as a woman and a massage therapist as I’m working from a more receptive state.
My body naturally softens, my intuition heightens and that energy flows through me, creating a different depth of care for my clients.
Leaning into it - Protecting your energy with boundaries & micro-rituals.
Wear something that feels comforting, sip warm tea, nourish your body with warming wet foods to support your “chi” (Qi) (the body’s vital energy).
Connect with yourself throughout the day by holding your lower abdomen and breathing into your womb.
Limit draining interactions when possible and honor your need for calm.
Set a gentle intention at the start of your day “Today I serve through softness”.
Even small adjustments like quieter breaks, help you honour your cycle without canceling work.
Our cycles are powerful teachers reminding us that every phase brings its own unique gift.
